Well this morning on the way to school, a new noise came to my attention. I think its coming from the tranny area. Its a rattling noise that increases and gets louder while accelerating. I'm thinkin' differential, but please OH PLEASE tell me otherwise.

are you sure its not your heatshields rattling against your cats. the rattle is annoying as ****. I'd look into that first.

How do I go about checking that?

Jack the car up when it cools and wiggle the covers to see if the welds have broken. Either have them w$ld$d back on or finish breaking them off.

The noise is most noticeable between 2-3k rpms. There is also a knocking noise from the same place when ever I accelerate moderately. If I accelerate slowly then there is no knock.
