OIL light... Yes the one on the VERY left... Ok, this engine has 70,817 miles. Now, are my bearings going already? When I stopped to turn around, the oil light flickered... And was never on again, other than those 2 seconds... THE EXACT same thing happened to my old engine about 2 weeks before it spun the bearing. I am using the same oil pressure sending unit as before, could it have a coincidental short? Or should I change these fricken bearings? I dont know what to do... There is NO knocking from below, or top... I am hoping it is just that sending unit... any other ideas?

ALSO: I lt it cool or aut 30 min. then started it up, and the RPM's were only runing a bout 400... then shut it off, started it, and was up to about 800-900...

If the engine speed dropped to 400 rpms the oil light is guaranteed to come on. Nothing to worry about, just give that intake a really good cleaning and pay special attention to that pesky IAB valve. thumbs_u

End your worries and put on an actual oil pressure gauge. If you start going below 10lbs, then start to worry.

Hey didn't say it was coming on at idle though... he said it came on in a turn. Matt get a gauge dude. Those lights don't come on until it's too late. *fingers crossed* Hope it's the sending unit.

Get a new sending unit, too. It's relatively easy to change out, and it's a good way to check. I'd change the bearings on ANY engine I would be installing into my car, regardless of any miles or supposed condition. An oil pressure gauge would be good, just get a Sun mechanical (best kind for oil pressure) gauge from Walmart or something.
