Hey, since this topic is actually getting more attention on the SHO forum than on Explorerforums :smash:, has anyone ever towed with a Explorer Sport? The differences between the regular Explorer and the Sport are, AFAIK, limited to the suspension and the engine. The EcoBoost 6 is obviously more powerful than the NA V6 (point for the Sport), but is the suspension on the non-sport better set up to accept the weight on the hitch? I suspect that the answer is "no", but I'm just doing my due diligence.

Thanks,

Mike

I leased a ‘18 Sport for the wife and a ‘18 SHO non PP for myself. My wife previously had a ‘15 Explorer with the Sport Appearance Package. The features in the Sport are way better than what I have in my SHO, plus it has Ford PASS standard. It also seems to accelerate faster to 30 than the SHO in the “D” mode. I suspect that’s because the transmission programming was changed to accommodate the extra bulk the Sport carries.
As much as I love the SHO, I am seriously considering buying the Sport when the lease is up and turning in my SHO.
