SHO scamp

I own '92 and '95 SHO's. The '92 is hibernating in my garage as a spare vehicle. I recently purchased the OEM CD player for my '95 to use as a slave CD player in conjunction with my OEM radio. However, when attempting to install, I noticed that the back of the CD player had two ports, but I only have the harness for the port to run from the CD to the radio. It appears, from my Chilton Guide, that the other port is for a harness that should be coming out from underneath the dash, but I looked and can't find any unused harnesses. Did Ford install these harnesses even if the vehicle did not roll off the assembly line with a CD player(again, I don't see one inside the dash)? If not, how can I install the OEM CD player if the harness isn't there? I tried to get the CD player working with just the one harness running to the radio and it was a "no-go." Also, when running the harness from the radio to the CD player, the radio volume was dramatically decreased until I pulled the CD harness back out. Why? Obviously, I am not an electrical genius or I wouldn't be asking. Thanks!!
