I just started having an odd problem with my CD player. To begin with, I have a second gen tape and slave CD player in my '90. It has been working fine until today, now when you put a disc in you get what sounds like feedback in the form of a frequency sweep from 0 hz to around 15khz, it stops at around 15khz and stays playing that pitch untill the CD starts, then it goes away. When you advance the track the high pitch comes back untill the CD starts again. This does not happen while the radio is on or while the CD is playing. Any thoughts?

My 95MTX had a similar issue but I believe it's related to electronic interference. I've noticed that it only happens while the power antenae is raising itself shortly after getting the car started. Once it's over the sound goes away. One suggestion I can make is that if you want to keep the factory originals, consider getting isolators or line filters for it.
