its actually called an octane adjusting bar. it just connects 2 pins in the same connector to complete the circuit.

Only code I know of like that is the one that indicates that the Octane Adjust Shorting Bar (OCTADJ) has been pulled, which sends a signal to the PCM to retard the ignition timing 3 degrees. This is usually done as sort of a "last ditch" effort when spark knock cannot be managed by other means. The code could also indicate that there is an open in the OCTADJ circuit.

The OCTADJ looks similar to the spout connector.
