So I don't have 93 Octane available where I live-El Paso, Texas. Has anyone used octane boosters to boost octane level to 93 or higher? Experience?

I have not tried other octane boosters, but I was just thinking yesterday after I filled up, how great the amsoil octane booster works. I'm running the lms 93-100 octane race tune and its a night n day difference with smoothness especially at lower engine speeds, cruising tip in, etc. I also notice power is retained on the hotter days. I'm on my 5th bottle. Last week I went on a road trip and that was my first time in 2 months not adding it. The car went thru a **** of a time trying to readjust for the lack of the octane booster. On hot days it shines even more. I mix 1 bottle to 10gallons of gas. (Says mix up to 15gal). Claims 4pt octane increase. Seems like the most cost effective option as well. I recommended it. Do you have E85 around you? A couple gallons will make a night and day difference if you are getting KR on your current tune...

I am in the process of getting tunes from LMS. Just received their Calibrator and sent them the necessary codes for tunes. BTW are tunes from them unlimited free since I paid the $600? I am adding the 160 Thermostat, the 3 Bar Map sensor, the spark plugs, and their Cold Air system (whenever they get some more in). Asking for tunes for Octane 91 and 93 as I plan to use octane booster. Am going to order some of the Amsoil now to try it out. Any idea of HP gain using the octane booster along with the mods I am adding? Thanks

It really depends on your gas quality... if you have something to monitor KR then that will give you an idea if your octane booster is working...

Yes. I added 3 bar map sensor about 8 months after buying the tuner, and then downpipes about a year after that. Just email them all the same information you did the first time along with your current mod list, and you'll typically have a link for your new tunes within a day.

LMS will 100% recommend against using octane booster. Just run the stage 4+ 91 and you'll be happy. The 93 tunes are stronger, but not strong enough to spend the extra money on octane booster and run the risk of harming the motor.

Edit: What year SHO? I was thinking the poster above me was the OP and realized it wasn't. I'd advise against octane booster and run the 91 version. It makes a heck of a difference. '10-12 go by stages and '13-17 go by versions.

Try the ACES IV additive? It has been beneficial even in my naturally aspirated vehicles, easily gained 5-7 degrees of timing, and a little mpg too. If interested, you can call up Brian at http://bndautomotive.com. Be prepared to have a bit of free time tho LOL. About a $110 investment for 32 oz bottle, 1 oz per 6 gallons.
