O/D is stuck off

The O/D Off light won't turn off and will not shift into fourth gear. Please advise

Wire busted?

the most likely cause is the switch wiring. See below:

Od1
after pulling out clip from the front of the shifter you can slide it up and see the overdrive switch wire.

Od2
Could this be a problem?

This will normally cause the OD switch to be inoperative if the wire is broken, but if it was shorted to be always on it could kick in the 'OD Off' as soon as you turn on the car.
