okay so friday morning i pick my brother up from work in Queens and drive him out to my moms house in LI...about 15 minutes before we get there what feels like the tranny slipping happens when i take off...unless i very gently hit the throttle. aright, so then when i get over 35mph it goes outve O/D into
2nd gear and wont go up to 3rd unless i turn O/D off...so i get to my moms house and check the trans fluid...theres NOTHING reading on the diptick so i pour almost a whole gallon of trans fluid in and then its at the perfect level. i hit the brake and put it in reverse and drive and 2 and 1 then park. i check it again and add as needed. now it doesnt slip whatsoever and actaually shifts very nice except one little problem..no O/D...i will be doing 60 or 70mph and i hit the O/D button and absolutely nothing happens. now what i figured out, and i dont know y i didnt notice bofore, i have a trans leak im not sure where from yet but i will check tomorro morning. its not a huge leak where everything leaked out in one shot but a decent one where in the 3 weeks ive had the car it ran that low. what are some possibilites of what happened here....
did i blow O/D outve the trans?
is the valve bodt sticking?
should i try changin the trans fluid and filter to see if that works?
