Hey Everyone,
I am new to the SHO forum (not new to SHOs) and I wanted to get an idea of the groups in the Northwest area. I've noticed a few posts and it looks like most or the activity here in the Northwest is in the BC area. Are there many people around the Seattle area and are there any get togethers farther South? I see some activity up at Whistler (I wouldn't mind attending if I was in town), but don't want to drive up there for every meet.

Anyways, just trying to get a feel for the Northwest group.

Thanks,

There is a very large Washington contingent. I've met many when down seeing Dr Stimson getting Bull fixed.

If you road course your cars, there is also an open track event at Spokane once a month. A couple people are thinking about going in September on a Saturday.

I've never understood why anybody would want to drag a SHO. I know I would never do it.

I agree the SHO is not a drag car.

In this case, the car show just happens to be held at the drag strip because of the large parking area and facilities. It is a car show first, and then if you want a time only run down the strip, I think they are doing that in the afternoon.

To get an excuse to buy a Quaife..

I have a Quaife and I'd still never do it. I'm content to leave dragging to Camaros and GTXs.

I'm much happier on open road in the twisty bits. I imagine I'd enjoy a track setting but I hate the fact it has to be on an organized day/event. I hate making plans for something and then on that day not really feel like it.

I'm big on spontaneity.

Roger.

Brent and I just spent the weekend at the local drag event at our airport. I'll admit a slight urge to get out in the "street" group but what would be the point? My car lives for the corner at the end of the straight stretch, and that's where I KNOW I'd be leaving most of those drag cars behind.

I will be in the Yakima area on the 30th, looking at a Quarter Midget track, not sure if we will bring the red SHO or not. Sounds like you have a few SHO's up there, I will keep a eye out for them. I'm in Central Oregon.

I am glad to see there is alot of interest in the area. I previously owned a 2000 Contour SVT and was in with CEG (Contour Enthusiasts Group). I took three years to get a good core group together and then we all sold our cars. Looking forward to meeting more people that have the same interest in cars. I will definitely get to some of these events as they come up, but the next two weeks won't work for me.
