UPDATE: I went to Shawna's house last Saturday to help her. I set the cam/crank sprockets to correct position and after a little fight got the new belt on. She let me know last night that the car fired right up. She is very knowledgable about SHO's and cars for that matter.

:salute:

+1 more on using a strap wrench; even then, be careful, I've busted knuckles from my cam gears slipping when I turned them a tad too much. Hurt and I said several bad words. Like they said, NEVER twist them by those 10mm bolts. They snap VERY easy. You have to take special care when removing them (if you ever do need to remove a cam gear).

What "special care"? Do you mean not loose the pin? If so, just dont throw it around like a red-headed step child and you'll be fine.. and when you reinstall them, just make sure they're nice and tight and your good to go.

Special care as in sometimes they are on very tight and you should use a 6 pt. socket vs. a 12 pt. and penetrating oil is a good ideal. I rounded some of these thigns off in the j/y. That's why I say special care. And yes, don't lose that pin either.

You can see that a cam bolt has been replaced in the above photos on each cam showing how easy it is to round these off-six point socket is better for removal as stated in a previous post.
