not running right

ok my battery cables are all crowdid in side with green looking sand like stuff,and the battery terimals or really old,ok so i go to crank it and it seems the only power it gets to is the starter cause it turns over to fast.so i fidely with the battery termials and my friend trys to get it started and it finally cranks,but 3 or 4 sec. it run and idles right but after that or hitting the gas it runs like its out of time skipping and sputering but i got the timing marks right win i change the timing belt.i ran a self test and got 111,so can a bad battery cables be the trouble.

CORODED, bad, or faulty cables can cause all kinds of funky things to happen, or keep normal things from happening. Clean them, or replace them. If that doesn't help, retrace everything you took off when you replaced the belt. You probably forgot to reconnect something.

the cables could be corroded on the inside which could cause that problem. if you wanna clean the ones that are on there...baking soda and water eats up the acid like nothing

thanks all lot i think i'll buy some new ones.i ran the new battery i got 3 days ago down to not ever turning over so thank that was the last of its time.
