SO I'm at the dealer today getting an oil change and since the SHO is having trouble getting up to normal temps as of late (stays a bit cold or JUST into normal range) Anyways I wander into the friendly parts department and ask about a new Themostat.... he looked....then looked again.... shook his head... went to the book... shook his head again... made a phone call and came back to the counter saying that the themostat was 70.00 that cannot be right.... can it?

Yup, it's the most elaborate sturdy thermostat I have ever seen in a car. Funny thing is my $12 Stant version has been working just fine, but I still have the original, just wanted a cooler engine in the summer.

Yes, my NAPA one has been good for the last two years too. Less than $20 IIRC.

I think that it's a 190 if I'm not terribly mistaken.... or maybe a 192-195? that could be wrong....

The one I took out was a 180*. I'm not sure if it is stock or not.

Stock is 192F +- 4. A lower one won't do much good unless the fans come on sooner.

I have noticed a difference, but that is probably because my A/C is always on.
