I have a EATC fom a 1995 SHO. When I plug it itn the blower stays on when the unit is off and the fan speed is reversed of the fan switch. I plug the 93 unit back in and everything work fine. I see the circut board is completely different. It's plain to see a difference. BTW I had another Hard button that worked ok except somtimes the blower would come on at startup.

Question: Is there anyone else who has experianced this? How to fix it??
Please don't respond with "another component is bad". As I said the origanal 93 EATC works fine.

Perhaps you have one of those Lincoln units that are advertised on eBay as SHO units. I hate people who knowingly sell those on eBay as SHO units when they are not. You can tell by the height of the unit face.

Do you have a picture of it or any part numbers off the side?

Edit: BTW, I have a brand new Ford hard button EATC in the classified section if interested. Mine are service replacements for all Taurus, SHO's, and Sables, not a Lincoln.

It's been a while since i pulled it from a junk yard but I'm pretty sure I only pulled from SHOs. I could be wrong but right now anything is possible. I have others, I just wanted to find out if there were different functioning units out there. I did find out the difference in a 89 to 91, the green lights.
Thanks for the offer...

That is the exact problem that happens when you put a Lincoln EATC in without modding it.

I searched for 'EATC fan reversed' for you, and found the two threads that go into great detail about your question.

The short one:

http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=65278&highlight=EATC+fan+reversed

The long one:

http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=24248&highlight=EATC+fan+reversed

I didn't go through the whole thing, but I believe this second thread has explanations of all the EATC chassis color codes and differences between them, as well as compatibilities/incompatibilities and how to correct them... hope this helps you out!

The 89 is actually different than any other SHO. They have the EATC's that came out in 1986 with the Taurus and Sables. And, I also have those EATC's brand new in the box. :)

Here's the break down on EATC's from Taurus/Sables:

86-89
90-91
92-95

the 90-92 units are electronically the same just different face colors..
93-95 units need to be uses to do the round button face swap.

Ok, Ok, Now I just picked up a EATC from a 1995 Lincoln and a 1997 Lincoln, The 95 works the same as the other Lincolns of previos years, rev fan and blower on when off. The 96 fan doesn't come on at all and nothing cycles like A/C and Heat. How do I swap it to work in my 93 SHO?
Redundent question yes, but the round button is pretty cool.

Theres a difference between 93s and 95s as I've seen.
If the 95s are already Hard button, why would someone want to change the face?

I happen to agree. And I think the bigger buttons make it a little easier for a driver (whose focus should be on the road) to use the unit.
