So I read in earlier posts we have a noise box thats sole purpose is to generate noise to funnel into the interior. Can this be safely removed? I want to hear my exhaust not the stupid whirring noise box.

Yeah you can remove it. Kirk did. If you look just before the throttle body there's what looks like a filter for a shop vac. That's the noise generator

What did he cover the space it left with? Or is it just a filter that you remove?

He fabbed up and replaced that section ofplastic with a metal one. I've never really looked at it. Maybe I'll check that out today or tomorrow at work

Well that's handy..., my shop vac just happens to need a filter.:thankyou::)

... so are we sure this filter's only purpose is to make noise?

The V6 with 2 turbos would have made a sweet enough song......

whats the need to make noise in the car? Does it make the car appear quieter going down the road?

I'm still confused about this "interior noise maker". I must be blind but there is not a corrugated hose like the 'Stangs have to help breathe noise inside their cab. How in the world does this filter looking thing generate noise inside the car when it just sits off the tubing??

It's probably some sort of resonator. Cancels out the unwanted frequencies and amplifies the "good" ones. That would be my guess, anyway.
