94 SHO getting spark but no fuel. The pump does not prime, with the computer unplugged from the firewall the cooling fans turn on. With it plugged in the cooling fns come on. This is with the key in the run position. intakes grounded, I have spark so DIS has to be good. There is no fuel pump sound at all and I have also replaced the ccrm with a different one and I get the same symptoms. So no matter what with the key in the run position my cooling fans are on. Any Ideas??? Also I cannot run KOEO orKOER tests its like something is not grounded. The cooling fans should not turn on with the key turned to the run position right? The car doesnt run and I recently put a different motor in it I am 100% positive I hooked everything back up this is a strange frustrating problem.

Did it run after you installed the new motor or are you trying to get it to run right after the swap?

Yes, I have tried the switch in the trunk I hit it really hard it popped up and I pushed it down again so thats working properly. I am trying to get the car to start for the first time after putting the new motor in it. It was working fine up until I swapped it. So I must have not hooked something up right or something but I am 100% sure that I did because I double checked everything. The only thing thats different is I had to cut the ground wire coming off the battery terminal but I scraped paint to bare metal and regrounded it. No fuses are blown.

Its just weird that it worked just fine a couple days ago but now all of a sudden it doesnt work at all. My cooling fans being on constantly with the key in the run position that makes me think its something different

I agree. That is not normal. Is there a way they were crossed somewhere? Pump should prime up with KOEOff.

I dont really see how they could have crossed I mean think about it. Im sure many of us SHO owners have taken the wiring harness out of our cars before and I have only found two plugs on the back of the firewall that fit into eachother but ones black and the other is red you really cant plug anything in wrong ya know

I understand I was being semi-facetious. It appears that either something is hooked up incorrectly or is malfunctioning. That's why I asked whether it was running at all after install. Really hard to get a grasp on it over the internet since everything was disconnected at one time. I wonder if it's a bad ground to the DIS/CCRM/PCM or a malfunctioning one of the above.

How can I test the modules I have a working dis as far as I know I have 4 or 5 of them as well as the black box by the radiator I have some of those laying around as well How do I test these components and it has spark as well so I dont think its a dis. Is there a way to put just straight power to the fuel pump and if so how. Im guessing its through the star connector by the firewall.

The black box on top of the radiator is the relay control module. It controls both the fans and the fuel pump. That's the likely place to start but I would first check for power to and from the inertia switch in the trunk. That will indicate whether there is power going to the switch and, if there is, if it's coming out to the to the fuel pump. If there is no power getting to the switch then you work back to the IRCM/CCRM (relay module). IF good power is making it to the pump that indicates a problem with the pump or sending unit in the tank. Since you have fan and pump problems the relay module is likely having a problem.

Some of the good writeups for troubleshooting the fuel pump were lost in one of the server crashes some time ago.

Ok so I have tried a different ccrm and tried to use the eec connector to ground out the fuel pump and make it run continously? I have not tried reading power to the switch in the trunk but it should just get 12 volts right??

I think that's about right. See if power goes into the switch. If so then check to see if it comes out the other side to the fuel pump & sending unit. You can work from there.

Did some testing. It is not the fuel pump its self with the key in the run position I took a jumper wire straight off of the negative post on the battery and touched it to the self test connector pin to run th fuel pump and it is working. What does this mean. BTW my cooling fans are still on but I unplugged them because they are really loud so my fans are still turning on for some odd reason
