First and foremost, please.... PLEASE dont let this start a fight. I am a consumer and I want to find out some information on two competing companies so I can make an informed decision.

I am interested in tuning my 2010 and obviously LMS and Unleashed are the two big players in the SHO tuning arena. Has anyone driven or tried both tunes in their cars and noticed and differences or characteristics in driving experience? Power, control, drag times, longevity of performance, anything!

What is the real difference here? Guys/gals, please, keep this civil. I've seen the threads of people fighting over the two. If you cant be unbiased then please dont reply. I am honestly trying to do what will be the most fun/best for my daily driver and my baby, my SHO.

Cheers y'all!

I have not driven both. However, I can tell you the difference is in whoever is behind the computer and tuning your car. Based on what I have seen from both parties, everyone is happy with what they have. As far as what is actually different between the two tunes? Well, good luck finding that out. The nitty-gritty details of a tune (especially canned tunes, as both the LMS and Unleashed tunes are) will never be fully disclosed by either company, simply because if they disclosed every change they made it would open up the doors for others to come in and copy exactly what they did.

With that being said, good luck and I think you'll be happy with whoever you choose to go with.

I absolutely cannot be unbiased, since I have no experience with Unleashed tuning. I have a suspicion that few if any SHO owners have experience with both on their cars, just because once you've got that tune, you're gonna be happy, so why mess with a great thing? (I'm just guessing though.) All I can tell you for sure is that I have been very happy with Livernois, with their knowledge, professionalism, and outstanding customer service. Maybe Unleashed gives the same level of performance and service, I have no idea. All I know is that you can't go wrong with Livernois, if your experience turns out to be similar, which I expect it would be. I hope that helps you out somehow.

Very happy with my Torrie@Unleashed Tuning tune. Extremely prompt email communication - best I've had from any online vendor.

i think what he wants to see is dyno sheets of both tunes on a stock sho. Seems like unleashed would be best remotely or does livernois do free tweaks likes that torrie guy?

Livernois does do stuff remotely. I got my tunes from them over email, real quick. I even called to ask a few questions, and they were extremely knowledgeable. From what I understand, you can request new tunes at any time. I wouldn't mind seeing dyno data comparison between the two. Just out of curiosity.

Well, this is kinda old. From last summer. It shows Stock, Stage 4 SCT and Stage 4+ MyCal.

I'm extremely happy with my Unleashed tune. Great customer service and very prompt. I was definitely curious about Livernois though. Another guy I might give a try is Shawn Ellis at Socal. He just put a STOCK F150 at 13.1 1/4 mile! And safely done!

Currently, Livernois "tweaks" based on dyno data & customer feedback. They are developing datalogging capabilities for their MyCal tuner. Unleashed can "tweak" based on your datalogs created using their SCT tuner, sent back via EMail.

Baised here too. Running the current 4X 3bar from Livernois. They have been great to me, answered all questions. I've have been given a tour of there shop, very impressive. Both are good tuners, just comes down to what you are looking for.

You will be happy with either company. You are in PA so you are not close to either. I chose Livernois because I liked their close proximity to me. If I was in FL, I may have chosen Unleashed. Love my 4+ tune, but fairly sure i would love a Torrie/Unleashed tune also.

I had the LMS 93 octane stage 4+ tune on my 2011 PP SHO and I'm running Unleashed 93 octane tunes on my '14 PP SHO and '13 EB Flex. No complaints about any of them and no big differences either.

Cost difference? You know..."bang for the buck"?

I went with LMS back in 2011 only because it seemed to be the most popular and there was plenty of real-world user feedback on the exact tune I wanted. Back then, LMS hadn't yet started selling MyCal for the SHO, so I purchased an SCT X3 from them. When I bought the Flex, I went with Unleashed because they support the SCT X3, which I was familiar with, and it was a few hundred dollars less (even though I bought a new X3 for the Flex from Unleashed) than the LMS MyCal setup. When I traded in my 2011 SHO for a 2014, I already had the X3 from my 2011, so it was much cheaper just to buy the tunes from Unleashed instead of the whole MyCal setup from LMS.

All I can do is echo some of what was said above. I went with Unleashed because of the great experiences I had with him ordering parts from Fast Parts Network. I've never experienced online customer service as good as what he provides. There's doesn't appear to be "normal business hours" for Torrie, he replies quickly during most people's "normal awake hours". I've also been very pleased with the performance of the tunes he's provided and he's been very responsive to requests for tweaks to the tunes. I've never had an issue with the tunes for the SHO.

I live in Iowa and have never had a good excuse to drive to Florida so I have not taken Torrie up on his dyno facility, but he certainly has the capability to customize tunes for your specific modifications if you are so inclined.

From what I've read above and on other forums, it sounds like LMS is also very responsive and I don't recall ever reading anything negative about their tunes or there service. So, like has been stated a few times above, you'll likely be happy with either route.

Ditto!
My 2 cents....I have unleashed and I swear Torrie doesn't sleep. I data log later at night when the roads are less busy and I get responses from torrie even late at night. Remarkable customer service :woo-hoo:

Reason I went with torrie (unleashed)...data log capability. You want a custom tune with lms? You have to run on their dyno. Want a custom tune with torrie? Drive down a secluded road or track. Custom tunes are the only safe way to go as all canned tunes are guesses on averages.

You know it's funny... data logging was a selling point for my Livernois purchase as well. I purchased the MyCal Touch for my tuner, which does data logging with your own choice of parameters, it's upgradable to Ford specific data codes form the manufacturer, an all around great device. They just ran out recently though, and won't be getting more of them since they're only useful for the 2010-2012 set... though I got the impression they were getting an even better touch screen device shortly that will blow mine away, and work with every year SHO.

That said, I'm not sure if I can get a custom tune using the data logs from them, I've never asked - but I can't see why they wouldn't.

Awesome that you can do that right now with Torrie's tunes though.
