BOO switch and fuses are the 1st place to look. After that-- looks like probably wiring schematics and probing. You have an EVTM (electrical vacuum troubleshooting manual)? I had one for every SHO I have owned over the years. I'd look for year model specific one on ebay like this one

Did you confirm you have power to the BOO switch when down there to replace it? Checking the fuse (Fuse #1, 15A) would be an easy first check, but if you have power to and through that fuse, confirm you have power to and through the BOO switch. Report back if further diagnosis is needed.

As Rod stated the fuse feeding the brake light switch is position #1 and a 15 amp. It comes out of the fuse box on a LG/R wire to the brake light switch at connector C2016. Confirm the you have 12.0 + V at the switch on that wire. Then with the brake switch applied you should have 12.0 + V on the other wire a R/LG wire.

If you suspect another switch failure, you can easily disconnect the brake light switch connector and jumper the 2 pins. If the brake lights now work, then either the switch is bad, the electrical connector C2016 for the switch has bad contacts or a fatigued wire at the switch. It wasn't uncommon to have the wires just out of the switch get fatigued from flexing the wiring when the pedal was applied. Motorcraft and other after suppliers make the electrical connector with new pigtail wires, so you can solder in a new connector with additional wiring.
