When do you guys want to hit up Gainesville roadcourse again? Has anyone done any additional mods to their cars to improve speed, handling, appearance (different wheels/tires), or weight reduction in preperation for the next time out and if so, care to share what you did and why you did it?

Also what do you think your cars weak points were...something you want to hae done for sure next time.

I'll start off: Since I drove the Viper last time I definitly need to replace my old, flatspotted Michelins. I believe my front brakes are pretty worn as well and I will probably hit them up before the next event. I have not touched anything on it since the track day but those were the only items of improvement I know I need to do. I would like to bring the '91SHO next time, but it is set up more for straight line racing...however I am always full of suprises, so I may have something up my sleeve

As close as we are to the convention, I'd really rather not do an event before then. Haven't done much with my car other than maintenance BS, I'm just in the middle of swapping interiors and installing my stereo. Now that I'm done with school for this semester, I can get that finished up right. I've also got some minor cooling system and A/C repairs to catch up on, and replace my motor mounts that have been broken for several months now. After that's done, the car will get a complete suspension re-do and I'm going to install my Quaife'd trans and clutch/flywheel. That'll happen in June. If the cash and time is there, I might also bolt on some Cobra brakes. Other than a new set of tires for my 17s, the car will then be ready for the convention.

Those mods will also take care of the problems I noticed in Gainesville, with the biggest one being spinning the inside tire like crazy. The only problem I won't have fixed is my crappy driving.

BTW, after going to Tara's party, I will have a new cosmetic upgrade... a FSHOC sticker!

I REALLY want to do another event just to practice before the convention, but I'm not sure if I have the $ to do it right now. I could probably pull it off but no one else seems to want to do it except Chris and Jason and that would mean we'd have to invite the @$$h0l3$ back from BMS...

As far as complaints about the way my car dealt with the track, I really have none except my tires. I could have cut a lot of time off if I had stickier tires, that was mostly what was holding me up. I have stock brakes, but that track didn't require having to slow down real fast very much... I haven't even changed my brake pads since then. I need to, but I can still drive on them.

I absolutely LOVE my suspension setup. I was expecting improvement over stock, but not that much. It's much tighter but still completely streetable at the same time. I was happy with the way it performed. I'm mainly focusing on suspension stuff right now. I'm over being all pretty and shiny (obviously!).

My list of what I'd like to do before next time:
Brake upgrade (or new pads at the very least)
SFB's
SFC's
Track tires
And I really want some mufflers! :)

I see a trend so far: brakes, everyone has mentioned brakes. Now the qusetion becomes were your brakes adequete but now worn or were they not enough by far and larger rotors, calipers, ect... required to stop your rig? My brakes seemed okay, the fronts were a larger aftermarket kit, however they were squealing like a **** if I got on them, so I'd say the pads are shot.

Brian, spend a couple bucks and atleast upgrade yourself to the 96+ brakes.

As for track rental, I don't think we will ever fill all the spots to bring the cost to around $120. I would invite BMS again, unless everyone wants to spend about $250 on a spot and have 10 cars max. I'd rather pay less

Mike from BMS is supposed to call Gainesville sometime this week and see whats available. He offered to invite some of us if we wanted to go. I will go for sure...anyone else in for something probably in June. Mike was one of the guys who stood by the start/finish all day doing the stopwatch, so if you go, be sure to thank him again for freezing his fingers off all day.

Hopefully he wasn't the one that was talking to me like I was 5 years old since I was the only girl out there driving that day.

Anyway, stock brakes seemed to be fine for me, although ya know, there's always room for improvement so I wouldn't complain about having bigger brakes. I had just put new pads on the week before and they are pretty worn out now, but still functional.

Brian, when have I refused helping you work on your car? :)
If you are going to the party the 20th, we can all do it then or we can do it one weekend.

Rotors, calipers, pads, entire hub assembly. If you have the money, buy new parts...otherwise search a salvege yard for the hubs and if you are brave enough, calipers.
