How do you guys keep blowing headgaskets? How do you know that's what happened? At the convention this year when I have was having my cooling problems, the car was doing over 230 before I even got on the track and would be pegged past 250 by the end of the first lap of each session. By the end of the session all the coolant would be gone, CEL light on for 254 degrees+, and the car SERIOUSLY hot. And I did this like 5 or 6 times that day. No blown headgaskets or warped heads for me.

I'm going to take anything of value off the car and either sell or keep it all, depending on what the next car is.

I bet you could get a lot for your black interior as that was pretty f'n nice!

how'd the hood take the accident?

the interior, wheels, engines, trannies, quaife, could net you a nice 240sx, cough, from just that money

any money out of the insurance?

any thoughts of what possible cars you could want next?

Hood is pretty banged up. Some people seem to think it is repairable.

I used to be pretty into 240s, but I think I'm going to wait out for another SHO.

IDK how the headgasket blew. I was skeptical when Todd said they blew but low and behold there was oil all in the cooling system and some water in the oil. I think only the front one was blown. Funny thing was when I picked it back up from Todd we had it running for like 30 minutes and it never overheated or showed any signs. Same with Craigs...he had his car at a shop and the mechanic said he had blown headgaskets. I told him to take the car and run because that is not common at all!!! He says the fluids are definitly mixed so...wierd. Very rare that we both blew em.

What was your problem at the convention? You must have had a leak somewhere where the water evaporated or boiled over. My heads may have been fine but it was easier for me to put on other ones and cheaper too than to take them to a machine shop to be examined and possibly decked whatever was within tolerances. Craig is going to have his examined.

You should let Todd look at the hood to see if that is something he could fix up.

I never got the problem completely fixed, but at the track I think it was a combination of a slipping belt, bad radiator cap, and a small leak.

I don't know how the HG blew! I am getting coolant in my #1 combustion chamber, and it only is running on 5 cylinders. I get spark at the coil, the end of the plug wire, but not in the chamber, plus it has new spark plugs. It never overheated or anything. It is just mind boggling. Hopefully SuperchargedSHOguy can look at it and make sure it is blown.
