Hello all,

Thanks for being here today. I just wanted to introduce myself today from British Columbia, Canada. This website has helped me immensely over the last few months. With such rich knowledge dating back decades in this forum website I’ve been able to, change much needed parts, gain knowledge myself on these motors and help diagnose some hefty issues I’ve been experiencing.

I took ownership of a 1991 Ford Taurus SHO partial plus model with just over 150’000km on it back in august. I met the previous owner driving my 1995 Taurus gl in this gorgeous garage kept emerald green with 54’700km on it that my great aunt handed down to me. I knew I had to own one of these legendary sleepers after I did my research on those Yamaha tuned v6’s.

I purchased this SHO with a known misfire under load and rough idle that I’ve been chasing. I’ll post a thread about what I’ve done so far but most recent I’ve found some frayed wires leading the dis module that I’ll fix up and see if it was that simple. The only code I can pull koeo or koer are 11 so that’s all good.

Hopefully the pictures upload correctly I think that’s all for tonight.

Nice to meet y’all 5134D315 87A7 4855 85F9 7A434B2763C0

1st, welcome in. There is a wealth of knowledge here.

2nd, there is no such thing as a partial Plus. Drop that term from your vocabulary ASAP.

3rd, you car appears to have the stainless trim around the windows. It's hard to tell in the photos but if so, you have a true Plus. All of the other tell tale signs appear to be there too, but the stainless trim is the 100% way of knowing.

frayed wires at the DIS module points to someone rewiring something or excessive engine movement due to bad engine mounts. Replace the mounts if you see or suspect too much engine movement. (after you get it to run right)
