New valve cover gaskets now have noise

Hey gang.I just put on new plugs/wires,VC gaskets,and intake gaskets.Had no prblems with anything but the vacume hose routings.I routed them as the posts on the forum said but not sure if it's right.I had a whistle at about 2500 rpm after all of this.I know NOW i left the ground strap off the intake.Could this clear up the whistle I'm getting?Just want to get all my options together before I drive 20 miles to the car.Will run my codes when I get back to work on it.Anything else?
