Well, it appears a "Blister" formed on the top of my left rear door at the base of the window under the molding. Ford is covering it under warranty, like EVERYTHING ELSE....wtf!!

Warranty Issues so far (5k Miles):

1. Brakes
2. Computer Flash for Transmission issue (No luck)
3. Transmission Case for Transmission issue (Waiting on parts)
4. Paint
5. Peeling Chrome on Rear Taillights.

I'm sure there will be more to come, wish I got that extended warranty now, there seems to be a lot of things wrong in the short amount of time i've had the car.

If your car is still under the original manufacturer warranty, you can still buy the extended warranty. This is a new model so some things are to be expected. So long as they keep repairing the issues I am happy. I had a 2005 Infiniti G35X that had about the same amount of problems. Only difference was they would give me a loaner, even if it was for an oil change. That was SWEET!

I noticed today at the gas station that my passenger side door looks like it was removed and repainted and reinstalled. I'm not too happy about that.

Negative. There's orange peel around the edges where someone was careless.

Door jamb of that door is rough and dull unlike any other door on the car.

quite a few issues so far.......that's frustrating.....but as esfoad says provided you're still under warranty, you can buy an extended plan, tho it'll be more $$$ than buying at car purchase time.

Thats what the Ford dealer wants you to believe. I think its only 50 or 75 more than when the car is new. Theres a bunch of dealers online that will sell you a ESP plan for a lot less than what your local dealer will. Google is your friend.

All four of my doors are like that overspray in areas too. Careless painter or robot gone wild

What is the deal with these cars? I pop in and check this section every now and then, and it seems as if someone is constantly having major issues with the new ones. I know first year cars often have bugs that need to be worked out, but so far I've seen 2 buy backs, this post and maybe 1 or 2 more with issues.

I had some friends have multiple issues with a Fusion they bought and a field service engineer was no help. They took a loss and traded the car in on an Altima.

I'm going to sit back and watch for awhile....I'm still not sold on Ford's "better quality" yet. Love the cars....but that's alot of $ to spend to have something always in the shop.

Every automaker has issues, this isn't isolated to Ford. Go over to the Mercedes or BWM forums and you'll see buybacks there as well on $70 - $80K+ cars. Is Ford Quality perfect, nope. Will there be issues - probably. But think of probability of the amount of cars made vs the ones you read about here - still a small percentage.

Do the other colors scratch easy, or is it just the Cinnamon?
My oldest son wrote 'Whats up' on the trunk last Friday with his finger, in the sand/grit/salt. I made him wash the car (with supervision).
Well, needless to say, the 'up' is scratched and can be seen in certain reflection. Its very light, and will probably wax out, but, nonetheless, I was surprised.

I don't know any car that won't scratch like that regardless of color. I think the you might notice the scratches more because of the color. I'm sorry to hear that you got scratches so soon, I'll throw in my suggestion for removing them. Clean the area and then clay bar the area. Use a product like Adam's "Scratch Out" or one of the others that are available, but they are all pretty good at filling little marks. I would follow that with a Haze and Swirl Remover and then a coat of polish and finally a coat or two of wax. Hope this helps, good luck in getting the scratches out.

You should have hung out in www.freshalloy.com back in 2003/04. The g35 was new and had similar issues. Rattles, A/C, tranny, engines, clutches, etc. I remember seeing one car that was new that blew its engine.

That being said, so far my Taurus has been back to the dealer for less than my G35 was in the same time period. The G was a reliable and great car to own. I expect the SHO will be as well.

I have the exact same experience. 2005 G35, great car but not better than the SHO.

I've had fewer complaints with my new SHO than I had with my G35 that I bought new in 2007 over the same amount of time. The rattles and faulty instrument cluster showed up within the first couple months of ownership. Other than the Supra, Toyota hasn't really made anything that I wanted to own. I had a new Camry as a rental in California that I wasn't impressed with and a Prius in Boston as a rental which I quickly learned to hate.

yeah, I was there, and at G35Driver.com for many years. (gsedanman & msedanman)......and I remember those events. I'm hoping the SHO is more reliable than some of those cars.

By the time he got to to "up" part there was a build up of grit on his finger that would be like 400 grit sandpaper. Not Ford's fault, any vehicle's clearcoat would scratch.

Meguiars ScratchX (or any good polish) will remove the scratches. Then apply Meguiars NXT over the polished area. Either can be found at Walmart.

A polish is not a sealant or wax and will not leave a "coat" of any kind on the finish.
