Rick, How do the stock exhaust maifolds flow? Will these have to be ported as well ? Or are you guys going to come up with headers for our engines?

Honestly, I'm not sure we've really looked at them yet. The exhaust port on the head looks pretty restrictive though.

I concur, the 90 degree bend leading into the cats is typical for the factory and HAS to be killing efficiency. I hope LMS comes out with a full exhaust and with some head work...I know 600 reliable ponies is attainable. And as far as the rear clutch pack, don't even get me started...

From what I've seen with manufacturers, the trend is to fewer cylinders with boost to give decent fuel economy with better than average power.
The CAFE guidelines for the future are much more stringent than they are right now leaving little room for V8's.

I doubt very much if you'll see a V8 ecoboost.
You're much more likely to see more boosted 4 and 6 cylinder engines.

Just my humble opinion on what I've heard. :)

haha, I'll play along too and say an ecoboost V8 would be a dream come true for me, tho I'm not holding my breath.

I love a V8 -- it just sounds great -- anything else just doesn't measure up, but I'm afraid their days are numbered no matter how efficient they make them.

Pity --- but fuel economy and less pollution have to take precedence.

I still rejoice in that Ford has come up with a fantastic winner in the ecoboost SHO/F150 V6 engine. (amongst other cars to have these engines)

It's a definite sign of the future and a real winner which others will emulate as soon as they can.

I dont know much about a flow bench but those numbers dont look to bad to me. Interested to see an after port comparison, are these off of your 2010 or did you buy stock replacement heads to play with?

We have a Superflow 600 and 1020 bench. The 1020 usually reads slightly lower than the 600, but closer to OEM advertised numbers.

We bought stock replacement heads to develop, because we will test several different ports and likely have to scrap a few heads.

Just out of curiosity... Do you have the cam profile handy for the stock cams? I don't think i've ever seen them posted.

Unfortunately, I do not. We have a cam doctor, but don't have a stock cam to test at this time.

out of curiosity have you guys ever played with a set of 86-95 SHO heads?

Sorry, we have not. We never did any SHO work until we purchased our 2010.

Thank you,

Rick

How about a stroker kit?

turbo options would be great I'm sure the smallest changes would improve air flow

Pretty sure Ford tried a "stroker" kit. They tried to make it a 3.7 L as far as I know..but kept breaking it.

Turbo improvements are in the works and hope to have updates for you soon.

I do not want to go into details or give the name of the company, so not to bombard them with request during the development.

Hang tight!:munch:
