New 91+ with problems

Well I just found my winter/ Convention 04 car. Its a beatuiful White 91+, with a slight front end hit. No biggie since I play at the local body shop. The car is from VA with ZERO rust!!! I mean nowhere...

it has 2 small issues that I have fixed before on other buy just cant seem to concentrate while being sick and its raining out..

1. Cooling fan will not come on, I have switched the controll boxes (not knowing if it works either) but the fan dont come on. Car started with the other so Im gueiing its the right model.
Fan wont come on with water temp getting warm, or the AC on or the defroster on. Nothing! I did unglug and hot wire the fan and then it did work so I know its not the fan.. Any clues?

2. Lights... the dash lights wont come on unless operated by Auto lights/dimmer module. it the headlight switch is on there are no dash lights, flip up the auto switch and wham there they are. I swapped the module from the 92 to x2 check it and no dice.

This car is so clean it gives me a woody just looking at it, to bad I have to disassemble it next year for new motor/tranny/Paint - well a new car it will be needless to say

I hate to introduce it into the salt for the first time. Maybe it will hold up better than JT's did

I'm sorry I can't help you out with your SHO's problems but I want to say congrats on the find. I picked up my white 91+ from Virginia as well. There are a two tiny surface areas that I should really get touched up before the salt hits. I love working on the car right now because there aren't any frozen bolts. thumbs_u

Congrads on your sho plus, I almost got one too but the guy will not come down on the price. Anyhow, my take is either you have a break in your wiring to yout fan motor or whichever switch tells it to turn on may be shot(ECT sensor maybe)? For the dash lights, I had the exact same problem(they worked with the autolamp switch though) except it was all of my parking lights and after replacing my headlight switch, it fixed it. Hope you find your problem.

I got my 1991 plus kind of the same way. Cheap and it needed a little TLC. It was in pretty good shape, and only 147k km. It is my firsy sho and i am very pleased with it. Good luck with yours.

hey, guess its the 91+ club. i found my white 91+ in a junkyard and rescued it. cant wait to get my new motor and quaife in her. y would someone junk a very nice SHO because of a bad head gasket. i only paid 400 bucks for it. their loss, my gain.

Did you check the cooling fan fuse in the main power distribution box? I would ground the wire that triggers the fan relay to see if the problem isn't internal. If the fan runs, then there is a problem in the wiring from the EEC. I know the fan setup is different for MTX's than ATX's. Good luck.

Since people are telling stories about there SHO+, I'll tell mine. I got my jewel green SHO+ at a police impound auction, for $200, 100% rust free in Colorado, and all it needs is a clutch, working on it. Maybe a little paint work, but perfect shape. What a steal.
