I need to measure subframe dimensions from a Gen III SHO. Basically, it would mean jacking up a 96 to 99 SHO, putting jackstands under it, and dropping a plumb bob onto a big sheet of opaper to make the locations and heights of engine mounts, subframe to frame bolts, steering, control arm points etc.

Anyone near Hartford willing to do this - I can come over to your place with a floor jack, or you can come by my place in South WIndsor - or, if a Gen IIIer is changing their oil I can tell them how to take the measurments.

Thanks for the offer, Ian. If nothing else this research will show whether or not a 3.2/MTX combo has any chance of being swapped into a Gen III after say cam or tranny failure.

1.) Need to verify that the centr to center distance for the steering rack to subframe studes is 11.5 inches (also need to check on wether its truely 11.0 inches on a Gen III SLO).

2.) Need to compare relative distances and heights for the motor mount to subframe bolt locations, and the subfrmae to frame bolt locations.

The effective swingarm length (inboard pivot point to ball joint) might be interesting toi compare to a Gen II as well.

I can explain in some detail how to do this . . .
