Hi everyone, I purchased my first sho... a 1996 3rd gen car a few months ago. Has 66k on the clock. Not sure if the cams have been welded, but I'm going to find out in the spring. Leaks a little bit of oil but it's entitled after almost 30 years. The car runs and drives amazing and sounds even better! It's always been garaged from what I can tell, and not driven in winter because of the shear lack of rust being originally a NY car. Only has a few dings and scratches. Looking forward to loving this thing and putting some miles on it!

Welcome in! I daily drive a 97 right now. Mine leaks oil pretty good from the valve covers. Almost impossible to find replacement gaskets so just get use to it. I have a set for mine but other projects keep getting put in front of this one.

Add some Lucas to the transmission now and thank me later.

Thanks! I have found it is nearly impossible to source the VC gaskets. I have seen ways to try and rejuvenate old ones back to sealing again. I just keep some cardboard under it in the garage, it doesn't lose much. Definitely hard to find time for the projects! The transmission fluid looks good and it seems to shift well. I have everything to service the transmission in the spring when I tackle everything else on it, I will definitely put some Lucas in there. Thanks again Chad!

Thanks! I have already found tons of great info. Glad there's still lots of support out there for these cars.

Nice find. All of these really nice 3rd Gens that are coming out of the woodwork are really starting to get me itchy.

If major gaskets were available or even make/cut your own I would consider the same. Newer cars at current price points have me looking at other options. May have to go higher production numbers to get what I might like.
