I was under the impression that the '93 ATX and the '95 ATX were interchangeable. What is the difference between the ax4n and ax4s? So this is not a possible doner? Any options for making this work? I can get a rebuilt '93 ATX (ax4n) with TransGo kit for a good price, and really need a new tranny.

The ATX tranny`s are completely interchangable between the years,although the 94/95 tranny`s are a bit better.

AX4N were not released untill mid 95.

You need a AXODE

The AX4N was never used on a GEN II SHO. The bell housings will bolt up, but you won't be a ble to find a computer to mate to it all.

The AX4S is a newer AXODE, and really, the SHO tranny is neither. It is sorta its own breed. My tranny shop is having a hard time finding the proper parts for mine right now. The AX4N is a gen3 only option.

The A4XS he has will work just fine.
