Need help on 93 SHO

I am the proud owner of a 93 SHO that I bought new in 93. It has been acting up for a while. At times it will run perfect, no miss or hesitation trough all power settings. Then all of the sudden RPM's will fall off to about 500 at idle and won't have any power. Then it clears back up again. I have changed the fuel pump, spark plugs and wires, cleaned IAB valve. Ran codes: KOEO memory code of 216 (Coil 2 primary circuit failure). It sounds like I need a new coil pack, but have been told those rarely fail. If anyone has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

What does the the tach do when the problem is active?

Welcome to the Forum from north STL county!

Your problem is either the DIS module, the coil pack, or the interconnecting wiring harness.

Check the DIS module and coil connector pins for corrosion or damage. If none is evident, it will likely be necessary to swap out the parts one at a time and see which (if either) corrects the problem.
