Hey everybody, I made a post a few weeks back, with a tranny problem, wasn't sure if it was the tranny or a clutch. Well I finally got to pulling it out, and found a hole in my tranny right at the diff. I picked up a used rod shift mtx today for $363. I'm putting it in along with a new clutch kit tonight, wish me luck! I did have a question about the blown tranny, what would cause this to happen? And should I keep it and maybe have it repaired, just so I have another spare? How much do you think it would cost? Thanks for the help.

I think the majority here believe it's lack of lubrication around the diff. However, Clutch drops, spinning the tires, etc. is very ******* it and puts undue stress on the diff pin.

I wouldn't fix it. If the synchro's and blocking rings look to be in real good shape I would take them out and save them. These parts are getting harder and harder to find as time goes on.
