My Sho IS almost dead

ok so after a long time of driving my sho last week the car had a stroke lol- ok so i have mentioned my cams are not welded, but i was hearing a tickin noise which i believed to be my injectors. then as i was driving and it started to sputter and then just died. now a feew hours before that i would start it up and it would start then die, and im pretty sure i heard a noise from my fuel pump like a crazy whine which prob means it was bad! the car starts up and runs but sputters like crazy and almost sounds as if its running on a few cylinders, would a bad fuel pump still allow the car to start and run but run like crap? i tore the engine down to the heads and the cams are fine! so im just going to clean everything up put new plugs in and try to diagnose the fuel pump if that is possibly the issue! im going to replace my injectors from some i have with low mileage, put it all back together and see how it goes from there- any suggestion on to why this did this, im probably gonna end up having it towed to NESHO and just letting them figure it out. thanks guys

I would suggest checking the cams prior to doing anything (don't even crank the motor) but if you keep trying without at least checking the cams you may either need a new motor or a new car. The SHO's aren't worth much even when they are in tip top shape so think of what it will be worth with a bad motor.

X2 on the fuel pressure test. Another quick thing to try out to see if it's fuel related is to spray some t-body cleaner into the intake and see if it fires up and see if it seems to run on 8 cylinders or not. Another quick test would've been compression tests of the cylinders. Hopefully nothing serious is wrong...

yea im hopin its not too much- i just turned 75k on it and was liek wtf, car ran like a top til then- no signs of cam failure.nothing- anyone think possible head gasket, oil and coolant are clean, all new coils, plugs, everything is new other than fuel pressure regulator and pump! ive been debating on a rebuild for a lil time because i would like to spray the **** out of it, the tranny has already been upgraded, anyone have suggestions on a rebuild- if no damage to the motor what would i be lookin at for a cost, obviously i would be going to NESHO for the work if they could do it- thanks guys
