What is the difference on the rear exhaust manifold that makes it a necessary swap item?

The 3.2 in an ATX car is not located in the same position in the engine bay as a 3.0 in an MTX, so the manifolds are adjusted accordingly. If you use a rear manifold from an ATX in an MTX car it will exit on top of the steering rack. i.e., no way to bolt up a Y-Pipe.

ok, thanks. one more thing, the timing tensioner... is this the belt or chain tensioner that needs to be swapped?

Belt tensioner setup is different. ATX used a hydrolic tensioner and idler pully. MTX uses mechanically set tension and no idler pully.

I think inf you use the ATX tensioner setup, it would interfere with the timing cover, water pump, alternator (all mtx specific components).

The chain tensioners are the same in all 89'-95' SHO engines ( I think )

cool, one last question before I dive into this. For the timing belt, Do I line up the marks on the belt for a 3.0 or for 3.2 (since the moter is a 3.2)
