1. The retail tire pressure gauges you buy for a few dollars have a wide tolerance range. You may think you are running "X" psi, but that does not mean you really are. I have several tire gauges and they vary by 4-5 psi among them.

2. The Continental tires on my Mustang have a tendency to flat-spot when they sit. One tire has one spot that is the worst, but when I first get on the freeway after it sits more than a day, it has a bit of a shake until the tires warm up.

3. When I first put those Continental tires on the car, they rode poorly for about a thousand miles until the tires sort of broke in. They ride and feel a lot better now at 10k miles than they did when new.

Very true. We had a gauge calibration department where I worked and after testing various tire guages, even self-calibrating digital tire gauges and finding none of them on the money, I had them build and calibrate a gauge for me with a tolerence of a fraction of a pound. Even the tire pressure sensors in the tires of cars can be all over the map. Our new vette came with individual tire pressure and tire temperature displays. Compared to my calibrated gauge, each one read different. Don't know how accurate the tire temperature sensors are.

The "+" model's have a little more Road feedback than the old DSW 06's.
I've noticed that the plus model's are also noisier on Fresh tarmac.
I agree. I put close 45k+ mikes on my first set of 06s before I went to swapping winter/summer sets and replaced them with 06+s. The +s are a little firmer sidewall than the 06s but no where near as firm as the Indy 500s on my summer wheels.

Update! Before I put my summer rims/tires on in March this year I took them back to a local tire dealer down the street to have them balanced again. Still no relief, vibration between 85 and 100. I thought the tires were just junk. When I went to my local trusted mechanic who does my PTU/tranny/rear diff/coolant flush every 30K he said let me balance them. He had a smile on his face and said "I'm not worried, all those places suck". Well what do you know! They now ride perfectly. Guess who is getting all my business from now on.

I am SOOO glad I live in S FLA and can use MICHELIN Pilot Super Sports - no need for icy roads. Though they don't last long they stick like super glue.

Continental has some noticeable quality control issues, you may have a dud in there too. I worked in tire manufacturing for 15 years, continental was one of the brands that made good products if you got good ones, but the cq rate was pretty high. Much better than the chinese brands though.

Never had any luck with any Michelin tire. A brand I steer clear from as a result. No matter all season, dedicated performance, or winter specific tire.

Always had good luck with the Conti DWS though.

Most recent tire set up on my SHO are the Nitto NT555R's.
