FWIW my block is in good condition, i THINK (memors is fading) my base measurment for bore was 3.505 and my maximum taper and out of round was about .0005-.001 so not too bad. that dosent matter anyways, its getting bored lol.

as mentioned the m90 really isn't up to the task of shoving in enough air at those high RPMs. You got it for cheap? sell it for a profit on ebay! you can pick up turbos all day long in a junk yard from old diesel trucks, old stock turbo cars (usually not big enough for a SHO motor) etc. My buddy gets all of his turbos from junkyards, the rebuild kits typically run 50 dollars.

But if your really stickin to your guns in reguards to the m90 go for it, ive always thought it was a cool project. i would not go any lower then 9 to 1 ratio unless your running a much bigger S/C or turbo.

as said above, i have 9:1 on the way and a remote mount turbo is definatly a nice addition and i am strongly considering this for my summer project.

The instant TQ down low is sick and if i can get a bigger turbo dialed down a bit so i dont blow shit up. i just dont want it kicking in when the eaton is... i have a lot of reading to do though.

I would.......but thats me.

Its harder to do, and the outcome aint great (improvement but not a huge one) plus a custom intake is no fun

Depends wat setup u choose. The "turbo how to" is a great start. or search remote turbo SHO in the search button.

Ok, latest issue is guides. whats the quality of the guides? my teacher is worried that i will have to grind too much of the seat away if the guides arent perfect when i replace them so what do you think? i think i should just replace them.

Guides are good and it seems that they don't wear that much , as long as you're replacing the seals you're golden. Plus it's a pain to replace. Leave the guides there , do a little rubbing of the valve seats (with that special abrasive paste) and leave it there. Keep you're extra $ on other stuff.

i would just really hate to have problems down the road if i dont replace it. heres my real dillema, i guess the school shop dosent have what i need to do sleeves myself so we have to send them out and its 10 bucks a valve so thats 240... or i can do the guides myself. or not do them at all and obv replace the seals.

I think you just posted in the wrong forum. This is the car forum. Not the "prison-sex" forum.

this is what i get for leaving the shop computer logged in...

not to be a ****, but you REALLY need to lighten up.. Were helping you the best we can and were giving you TONS of good/great info that your not really using. Just chill and take the ******** sho humor with an iron stick! :thankyou:

As the SC goes. I would just go turbo. IMHO i think a roots style blower goes i think its such a waste of that intake manifold. If you want to go SC i would go centrifugal. Its been done a lot and its a lot easier instead of custom intake manifold unless you amazing with metal work. :omgsho:

UPdate... Engine is going out for machining and i get my pistons tomorow night. Looked into rotating assembly balancing and its gonna be about 550... i have no more money to spend of things like this if i want this engine to be in my car any time soon lol. ground all my valves and found out one is slightly bent so i need to get one replacment. guides are all tight as heck and im doing my seats tomorow morning. all my springs are within factory spec. gasket kit should be in by the end of spring break and reassembly will begin shortly afterwards. thats all for now folks!
