Fired up the SHO a few weeks ago to start using it as a daily driver again and my AirBag light flashes at me... It constantly flashes at me - it's almost like it is flashing codes at me because it seems to follow a pattern...

Any idea where I could find AirBag light codes? Or how to get it to stop flashing at me?

It starts flashing as soon as I turn on the car and continues to flash the whole time - it is getting annoying!!!

Thanks in advance...

I am getting the code of "51" which on the shotimes/faq it says : "Diagnostic Monitor Internal Thermal Fuse - Open Due to Intermittent Short to Ground"

I am also having a problem with my A/C error code 03 which is an open/short in the internal temperature sensor?

Are these related? If not how can I get this damn air bag light to stop blinking!

Can I replace that fuse?

BC,

The two codes ARE NOT related.

The air bag is one of the most dangerous thing on the car to work on. It can be done by a "do-it-your selfer" but it must be done correctly in order to be safe. The air bag MUST be disabled anytime you work on any of its system.

If you feel up to the job, that is are you confident enough in your mechanical skills to "do-it-yourself"? If you want to try it we will walk you through it. The fuse in the diagnostic monitor is internal and cannot be replaced as a sepeate piece. However, the problem could be as simple as a poor electrical connection. Again, do you want to do this yourself. If so let us know.

As for the temperature sensor, which is part of the A/C system and located behind the glove box, IIR correctly. I'll look into that and post more specific information for you tomorrow.

Yes, I am up to it - I did some research and it looks like I just need to disconnect the negitive battery terminal and wait 30s to 1min before continuing to discharge the battery backup for the SRS system?

Post some more info and I will tackle this SOB.

THANK YOU!!!

I'm getting a 45, crash sensor 2 not grounded. It's sporatic, so I'm sure it's a bad wire. Where is located so I can check?

It's located right above the radiator. Pull of the plastic trim cover piece and you should see it right there. It has four bolts holding it in place. I was getting the same code on mine and it turned out to be a bad ground. The sensor is grounded through the mounting bolts. I cleaned mine up and its been fine ever since.

I've heard that the computer needs to be cleared after fixing the system to get the airbag light to stop flashing.

I dunno, didn't seem to need it on mine. I just cleaned up the ground and the light went away on its own.
