If you have an MTX SHO and you drive it with gusto (if you don't, go get a Honda) you will probably want a shifter boss brace. This brace reinforces where a rod shifter stabilizer bar attaches to the transaxle, a well known weak spot.

Mine broke, and it really sucks.

Jose Fernandez (rktmn) made a few runs of them years ago, and now SHO Source is offering them if we can generate enough interest. Here's the original thread when Jose was offering them:

Matt from SHO Source (LOUDSHO92) said they will make some if there's enough interest, so please post if you'd like this bulletproof upgrade.

I'm a huge fan of SHO Source, but I do not work for them, so I can only speculate on specific prices or dates. From his original thread:

The price of the tranny boss brace is $125.00 plus $15.00 shipping

The boss brace with the 3/8" threaded plate is $165.00 plus $15.00 shippong. This plate takes a bit hand labor to do.

I was just thinking of this at my last autocross event. I either need to learn to shift more gentle, or get one of these boss braces before I break it off! I think it would be cheap insurance to avoid the hassle of repairing when it does break! I won't need it until the spring, as the car is going down for the colder months soon....

Interested. I'm not that price sensitive, but ballpark cost for a new run would be helpful

I will purchase one. I have one already, and its awesome. Having had to scrap a number of trans cases due to the shifter mount being broken, I can really appreciate the usefulness of this item.

It looks like we will try and have them by the beginning of next year. I will setup an ad for pre-orders.
