what does it take to remove and replace an mtx tranny on the sho? does the engine have to be pulled to get it out or can it be removed from underneath?

You need to support the engine with a engine brace, (try a search and learn how to make one) then you must remove the subframe and things attached to it like the rack, motor mounts, ect. A search may show you all.

It is well worth picking up the clutch installation video from SHONUT. It walks you through thew whole process, from start to finish, desribes the tools you will need, even shows you how to make an engine brace.
