Here's the story. Buddy just bought a 91+ for $500 to get around while he's getting his Contour SVT's tranny fixed. Ran great fine for about a week. He made a turn and felt a clunk. Lost all feeling in the shifter. While diagnosing it with Chris Smith he said to see if we could pull up on the clutch pedal. We did and it self adjusted quite a bit. Seemed really strange that you could do that. Went on checking things out as I thought it was one of the cables but they all checked out fine. Found out one of the rods to the shift housing under the center column popped off. That is pretty strange as well since it took quite a bit of force to pop it back on. Well I thought we were out of the woods. We went to start it up and the clutch is chattering when the pedal is pushed to the wood. When we drive it it slips too. I thought it might be something with the pawl. I played with that thing for hours and it seems to be better but I'm at a loss. I just don't anyway that it could be the self adjuster. I wonder if the TOB took a mild crap and cause enough of a jolt to cause the issues in the car we had. TIA!
