The fordbastard convention is off due to lack of interest and
no cooperation from Texas Motorplex, but we still are penciled in
at MSR for 2 days in June, the 11th and 12th. So who all will be
going? If anyone went to the run but didn't continue on after the
incident because you were not comfortable with your driving
skills in the twistys, this is the training place and the price is
perfect, $95. per participant. We need a minimum of 20 with no
more than 32 for each day.

(MSR) Motor Sport Ranch

For those that don't what MSR is.

MSR or Motor Sport Ranch is a 1.9 road course designed by 2 formula 1 track designers. MSR is located 14 miles southwest of Ft. Worth, TX. in Cresson, TX.

What we are doing at MSR is called a focus day or club day.

Here's the plan for the focus day,

The plan and times can be modified, but generally, a "club day" consists of
a group of car/drivers that come out to visit MotorSport Ranch even during a
member weekend - the minimum number we like to do is 20 cars, the maximum is
32.
The cost is $95.00 per driver. There should be one driver per car, no
sharing of cars. We allow passengers on the two "lead and follow" sessions,
but not in the later sessions. Helmets are not required during the "lead and
follow" sessions, but are required for the open sessions later. MotorSport
Ranch has a supply of helmets for rent for $10.00 each. Each driver and passenger
is required to sign the necessary insurance waiver.

Participants arrive before 1:00 p.m.
Beginning at about 1:00 p.m.
Intro and safety meeting
Lead and follow session #1
with pace cars
no helmets required
passengers allowed
Classroom session
Lead and follow session #2
with pace cars
no helmets required
passengers allowed
Classroom session

Beginning at about 5:00 p.m.
Break into two groups
more experienced
less experienced
Run two 25 minute sessions per group
no pace cars
helmets required
no passengers allowed
alternating sessions
up to 20 cars on the track at the same time
passing allowed only on the two longest straights
drive as fast as you feel comfortable with.

Just to be clear...
ONLY drivers have to pay the $95?
Passengers can ride till open session...
So...If I pay for my husband to drive and I only go as a spectator, I will only have to pay $95?

Whats the policy on refunds? I have 3 kids, one has congenital heart disease, so sometimes things happen that cause our plans to change at the last minute. I know that the deadline is the 24th, but if I can't get a refund I'll probably not go.

Dale is right, last Sept. we had someone that paid but couldn't sho so someone else took there place and refunded the person later.

You could always bring your kids with you. Or you could just sho up the day of the event and if we still haven't filled our 32 participants you can pay MSR directly. Last Jan. we had 2 last minute people to sho and just paid MSR direct. The main reason MSR likes the payment up front is so we don't have to stand in a line paying and can spend that time on the track.

6 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK we only have 6 days left to get the money in to Mr. Murph for MSR, so far only 3 have paid. I guess I'll have to invite the Mustangs to get our 20 - 32.
