It has been 10% here for over a year and I've only had the car for 5 months. Also the 26 was with the engine that shostopper posted up with a hole in it. So tell me if I shouldn't be getting better with an engine that has 110-130k less miles?

26 combined is better than you should get, so it must have been running lean.

my 252K mile Civic gets the same gas mileage that is quoted on the window sticker.

26 combined is pretty good.
Did your area recently switch to 10% ethanol? that will affect mpg's negatively.

Depends where you live, "mixed driving" for me is like 3 stop lights haha. not sure about the SHO but my lincoln averaged 17 in kansas city, and averaged 22 up here.

I would say abotu 5 miles or about 6-8 mins of driving Could possibly be this as the engine sat for 8 years and I didn't think about changing it.

I'll state the obvious. KOER test.

Your 26 MPG mixed driving figure seems high. My 92 with a 3.2 swap routinely gets 28-30 MPG highway.

My guess, if there's no codes, is that your previous 26 MPG wasn't calculated correctly.

No offense but I know math and btw like I said before most of my driving is hwy but I don't see how 6mpg drop is even plasible expecially when your getting 28-30 mpg

watching the thread here, as I would love to get this 26 to 30 miles a gal. I have a 93 ATX and have done all the things that have been stated but still get only 21 on the hwy.

You won't normally see much more than 24 or 25 mpg highway with an ATX, I don't think. It's the ATX the robs the MPG, not the extra .2 liters.

Plausible, and especially. Thanks. :)

I meant no offense either, but the drop in MPG isn't from the .2 liter increase in displacement. Something's wrong with the car, which is why I mentioned doing a KOER. How did you make out with that?

Didn't read the whole thread but I'll add my .02...

Got 19mpg last tank with winter blend gas, 100% city driving, and romping on it quite a bit, car just loves to go, go, go.

For the smile it puts on my face I'll deal with the 3-4mpg loss.

Last summer when I was doing more 50/50 hwy/city driving I saw 25mpg still having fun.

Well my cel light doesn't work I know that it hasn't since I bought the car. The bulb is good I think it's the wiring panel on the back of the gauges but idk I'm gonna get a code check done on it though.

I've been able to get 640+ miles all highway out of a 18.6 gal tank more than once.
