Well since I did the 3.2 swap my mpg has dropped a bit. I was at 26mpg on an engine that was toast see as the rod bearings were more than shot and it ended up putting a hole in its self. The new engine grated the bigger displacement is only getting 18-20 I changed the o2 sensors because I let the old ones get snowed on back when I did the motor swap. I'm curious as to what could be causeing the lower mileage? I would be happy with 24-26 considering how the old engine was kida junk. My driving is the same as before. I have ran a complete tank of gas through the car since the o2 sensor swap and the mileage went from 17-18 to 20mpg do I need to see what this next tank does?

Dunno what makes you think a little snow would ruin o2s for. One end is under the car in the elements, the other end of it is in post combustion exhaust gasses. I think they can handle some snow.

However, if your MPG is bad, people usually look toward the o2s

Because when I did my motor swap I pulled the y pipe out with the 02 sensors still in it and the y pipe filled up with snow when it melted it ran right onto the o2 sensors I didn't even know it was going to rain/snow so :woo-hoo: for me. $50 down the drain.

you got 26 in what kind of driving? city? highway? combined?

now you are getting 20 in the same kind of driving?

26 is about right for highway, so if you were getting 26 in city or combined, that means that the old 02 sensors were making the engine run lean.

if you are getting 20 on the highway now, that means that the engine is either rich or way lean (or your right foot got heavier by a lot). if this is your current situation, look for:
- vacuum leaks
- cam timing off
- bad plugs/wires/plug wire routing
- dirty mafs
- dirty air filter
- plugged cat(s)

Did you reuse the intake from your 3.0 or the one from the 3.2? The reason I ask is because I recently did a swap myself and I wound up getting ****** mileage. I finally figured out that the vacuum switch for the secondaries in the intake of the new motor was bad, leaving the secondaries open all the time. Does it have any other symptoms like sluggishness or idling issues?

That won't affect gas mileage, just low end tq.
mine have been unpluged for about 3 years.

Really? I replaced mine and gained 2mpgs. And it was a dog from idle. And that's especially worse for small displacement motors that don't have torque on the bottom of the tach to spare to begin with.

Ok well I used the injectors from the 3.0 so I have smaller injectors (running way lean?) ECT no I did not change it.

Yes 26 was combined and no I have not had a heavier foot it's always this heavy lol.

The secondaries are fine I can feel them open when I hit the gas.

cam timing is off I double tripple checked, vaccum leaks possible for the cracked a$$ charcoal canister one. Wires are good, plugs are new, filter is a k&n, maf idk, what gapping should the plugs be idk if this would cause it but I left the gaps at what they were out of the box.

I have a very slight idleing issue nothing major idles at 1100 rpms but will slowly drop.

how much for it?

More than you would pay

26 combined is pretty good.
Did your area recently switch to 10% ethanol? that will affect mpg's negatively.
