so i dont want to start up a whole new thread on the paint code, i can search for that, i'm wondering if anyone's used duplicolor or something of that sort and how it matches the moonlight blue. I've got a pretty bad spot on my drivers side front bumper (from when i bought the car) and a scratch on the passenger side front bumper (from when someone stole my roommates bike out of the garage), so i was wondering how close of a match i could get, and what product would be the best. thanks all.

Don't bother. Just go to a local automotive paint shop and have them color match it for you. Ask for 1/2 a pint of acrylic enamel. You will need a small can of hardener and some reducer. It should not cost more that $20 or so. You can spray it with one of those "Sprays It" refillable spray bottles that you can get at Wal*Mart or Home Depot.

yeah that was plan b, i've got a paint gun, compressor and all that... just no real good place to spray dust free. since you've done this before, any reccomendations on primer? or does it not really matter as long as i prep corretly? also, what grit did you sand until? 3000?

If the damage is not through to the plastic just scuff it with 400 grit paper and spray it (no primer needed). If the damage is through to the yellow plastic you will need to some SEM brand adhesion promoter and then prime it with a urethane primer from the paint store. The acrylic enamel is a 1 step paint that does not need a clear coat. If you are going to spray the entire bumper I would use a 2 stage base coat/clear coat system and spray it off the car to avoid over spray. If you are worried about dust just wet the ground before you spray. You only need about 20 minutes of calm for the paint to skin over and then it is "safe"

That bumper has been resprayed before. You might be better off if you do some sanding and respray the entire bumper. Is that primer underneath or was that bumper white to begin with?

i dunno, i knew it was resprayed previously, one of the reasons it cracked like that is cause the respray wasn't prepped correctly i was told... anyhow, i think i may want to track down a parts bumper cover and just redo the entire thing, seeing as this is my daily driver i can't exactly take it off and respray it at my leisure. looks like a good winter project for me. ( i have a semi-heated indoor space i can work in)

On a side note, have you even thought about selling that Cinci hood :naughty:
ive thought about it, when i look at my bank balance... but then i look at the SHO and i decide to keep it  plus, with the SVTs back on soon, it'll look even meaner

I am a little bit confused, because when I went and had my car color matched (its the same color as the ones you have posted in the pics) They pulled it as Royal Blue, It matched perfectly when sprayed.. if your going to try and touch it with a brush or duplicolor pen you're gonna be ****** when it comes out about 8 shades darker than being sprayed. but again, I've heard everyone call it moonlight blue.. and If Im not mistaken theres only 2 stock blue SHOs, navy and royal...

please correct me if Im wrong.]
