I remember reading about the two MTX Gen 3's one had a Mazda 6 tranny and the other had a MTX-IV. I assume it would bolt up then. So wouldn't it be possible to do the opposite? I suppose there are many variables such as clearence that would be differnt and such. Discuss...

The Mazda6 used the Duratec bolt pattern on all of it's engines, and the V6 SHO uses the Vulcan bolt pattern. Now if you wanted to do a V8 SHO swap, it too used the Duratec bolt pattern. However all the manuals that came in the Mazda6 were only 5-speed, save for the Mazdaspeed which is an AWD transaxle and I am unsure if it can be ran as only FWD.

I don't think the bolt pattern is the same. I think the MTX-IV was not a direct bolt up, but I could be wrong.

the Mazda6 has a duratec...direct bolt in to the V8 SHO. the yamaha engine, on the other hand, has a Vulcan bolt pattern...it'd require an adapter plate.
