is there a way to manually close the moonroof?

when I got the car the panel was off and the wires were tucked behind the passenger side visor, but I may be selling the car and it'd gonna be winter soon, so is there a way to manually close the power moonroof in a 1993 ATX????

any help would be appreciated...

YUP, remove the overhead moonroof/map light console: do this buy popping out the lenses for the map lights and romoving the two screws (one on each side) the push BACK on the console to unclip it. Once you have the console off, remove the motor...once the motor is removed you will see a small gear in the front of the console area, grab this with a pair of vice grips or pliers and turn. be carefull not to strip the gear.

Can't you just remove the little hole plug in the roof console and stick an allen wrench in the gear under the hole plug to close the roof?

I had to close mine with a pliers... I stripped it a bit but it should be ok. Now I just have to find out why all 4 terminals on the sunroof relay are gettin' power?...

Manual hand-crank.....even the owner's manual says remove rear passenger door handle and use to crank! Like any SHO ever had one.??? eek!
Ya gotta love FoMoCo...
Go to junk yard and get one off a SLObull. I even tried that 2 years ago, it stripped out the threads of the door handle..
My moonroof on Snowwind has been shut down for 2 years..fortunately when it seized up, it did so closed. I believe the failure is due to the lifting arms collapse.
eek! Personally I don't care, it is quieter now anyway.
Ma Ma M.... wink

For future reference all you have to do is romove two wires that connect to sunroof motor and take small jumper box(handheld) and touch one wire to negetive and one wire to positive.Sun roof will either go up or go down.If desired opening/closing is not which direction you needed switch wires and motor will now go other direction. Also works with power windows if you ever run into window switch problems.

Take the motor wires and connect them to a cordless drill battery. As long as the motor is good.
