No SHOs came from the factory with two tone paint and none until 1993 (Gen II body style) were even offered with an automatic transaxle. If it is a '91, it will have the slicer wheels and the more traditional dash design vs. the '89. Run. Run as fast as you can away from that car. It is not a SHO.

well here's my conclusion. It could very well be a 91, it has an airbag. The lower panels are from a titanium SHO, and the red is not a SHO color, but that does not mean that they didn't repaint it. I would email them and request a VIN, only then will you truly have an answer. I couldn't really tell if the taillights had any yellow in them.

I pulled out my 1991 Taurus brochure to confirm this. What I see is a garnet red Taurus (color not available for the SHO) with titanium (ad says charcoal) interior (again, not available for the SHO - only black or mocha interiors) and the silver lower body panels from a '89 or '90 SHO (since the '91 wasn't available in titanium). The pinstripes were standard on all Taurii but the L and SHO models but may have been a questionable dealer installed option.

The '91 SHO came with manual transaxle (not automatic), six spoke slicers (not 15" lacy wheels) and black window surrounds (not chrome). None are present on that car. That is not a SHO. Never was. Never will be. False advertising.
