Bore it out as far as the stock head gaskets will allow and you'll be fine (if you're looking for more displacement). I'd have the pistons in hand to give to the machine shop before getting bored.

Judging by the extra webbing on the 3.2L blocks, it would be safe to say they are a different cast.

Here is my '95 3L block (castings numbers visable).

This will cost you 3 times of what you actually need. This isnt a 302 , far from it - far more superior parts which stands more wear and tear. Ive put notes besides the jobs you stated. If theres no note , its OK to have it done. I understand this would be a BY-THE-BOOK job , but you really dont need to throw out your money for nothing. All the magnaflux is to check cracks which never happens in our SHO world.

Someone stated they needed more information. The engine is a 92 3.0L, roughly about 94K on the engine. Looks like it never got the 60K service, everything looks original. Here is the basic list of services the machine shop offers:

Head Work:
- Valve job - includes clean
- Seals Only
- Wash
- Surface
- Grind valves (tell him to go real easy on this)
- Grind seats (same)
- Hard exhaust seats (what?)
- Magnaflux (our heads never cracks , waste of money in my opinion)

Guides:
- Check
- Replace (nope , useless and waste of money again)
- Knurl, cut for seals (same)

Crank work:
- Grind (if theres no scores on the journals , no-no , waste again)
- Polish (meh)
- Magnaflux (nope)
- Wash and check only
- Straighten (nope)
- Balance (yes that can help)
- Special grind (nope)

Block Work:
- Press. Wash
- Bake
- Bore
- Deglaze
- Line hone
- Deck (waste)
- Magnaflux (waste)

Rods and Pistons:
- Wash and check only (this but all the rest is crap , and replace the rings)
- Recondition
- R&R bolts
- Fit pins/bushings
- Press pistons
- Magnaflux

Misc Work:
- Disassemble
- Reassemble
- Balance

Unless your changing the pistons, there is no need for any machine work.
Clean the block and heads yourself.
Change all the gaskets and bearings yourself.

Do you have the 60K kit?

One thing that happens is valve stem seals... not an easy job either..

Me personally, I had a machine shop give me a 3 angle grind, they got my valves all back into spec I assume by trimming a little off the top of the valves... pressure checked, new seals installed, and pressure tested.... looked like a new set of heads for $300.

And I get 30+ mpg on the highway.... I think its worth it... just for the fact I didn't have to pull 24 valves, and go thru the hassle of sorting shims..

I just did it as that 93 is like another kid to me... I plan to run those heads for another 200k miles now..

This. Had a shop do a valve job on a set of heads for me way back when I had my 94 MTX. Whatever metal they cut out around the valve heads they just lapped off the top of the stem and everything came out even.
