is there any reasonable way to make low end torque? its my understanding that the 3.2 v6 has a linear power curve, so low rpm= low hp/tq. i dont have money for FI, and once the car is MOVING it stabs, but from a dead stop its a snail; a mollusk of sorts.

The engine is made for high rpm. 3rd gear im next to a vette and then around 7k rpm i start to pull away all the way to 9000rpm (underdrive crank pulley) into the next gear. Its a Ja p motor, it works best on the top.

Intake manifold spacer and bored and honed runners. Big butterflies. All helps torque, anything added volume to the intake manifold improves low end torque. Still nothing like a gen 4 sho

You are cursed to be within the normal parameters of the vehicle as designed. This isn't a choked off v8 from the 70-80s due to huge emission changes pre electronic engine controls. There is not alot of power to unleash unless you radically change the way it physically operates. Not a cam, not an intake. big changes-forced induction, engine work etc

so am i just cursed to be slow forever then?
When the car came out in 1989. It would outrun the new corvette and only the M5 at 2-3x the price could outrun it.
Literally the fastest car an average person could buy in 1990. Chevys really only answer to it was the cyclone/typhoon.
Yea its slow to today’s standards. Im sure my 15 sho will be slow to cars in 2040. And the way teslas are with 3 motors now. It will be slow.
450 wheel hp will soon be slow, how weird

Find someone willing to run a stock 90 vette.
Word of advice, if a diesel truck wants to run you. And you hear his fuel pump over his engine running. Dont race that man

well i hear MY fuel pump over my engine running, whats that mean?
Shes clapped out or you need to insulate it better.
Best thing to make your sho faster is removing weight. Pretty easy. Also reduce unsprung weight. Lighter rotors, lighter calipers. Lighter rims and tires. Makes the most difference. Find a 91 plus fiberglass hood. Gut the interior. Depends on how far you wanna go. My 15 sho is gutted from front seats back. Just a shell.
I wouldnt do it to my 90 sho, id rather keep it together. As its a show car and is painted as such. I dont drive it, it gets trailered to shows
