Loose wheel "Hub bearing"

Hi guys... I started hearing a grinding sound coming from the drivers side tire yesterday so I had it inspected today. The mechanic showed me the tire, and there was considerable movement. How dangerous is this? I know I have to get it fixed soon, but til' then can I hit highways etc????

Your gambling every time you drive. The bearing could lock up or fall apart at anytime, or last for a while you never can tell really. All I can say is get it fixed ASAP.
