no offense but all i can hear is inside engine noise. no exhaust.
i think im just better off cutting the **** out of shit and playing around
I know rasp, but then again when the secondaries open and you have a aftermarket exhaust, rasp is inevitable. Honestly, the sound isn't that bad when gunning in while in car. It's racy to say the least.
Please note that I did NOT custom make the y-pipe it came with the car, but it is definitely a DIY solution, the rear exhaust dump is 1/2 the length of the front.
The cat back I'm not sure of either but it's flows pretty well from what I can tell. once again, the Taurus sho just isn't set up from a good exhaust, it's hard to persuade any truly decent sounds from this car with a 2-1-2 set up.
Then again, I've driven the car so much maybe I've become accustomed to the sound, but I've loved it since day one so go figure.
Here's is an in car video when I had the 3.0l in, please don't look at anything but the sound is this video, the car needed work at the time of shoot AKA an engine! haha

A magnaflow catless is probably a good bet. Sho source will hook you up (god forbid shipping if your on the east coast like me).

Hmm, burnout next to other cars in a parking lot. I've seen dumber things.
Like that time I was running with scissors taped to my ******?

Bob aka Jedhead probably has the best sounding 3.0. Even before the headers, it sounded great. He has the SHOShop equal length y-pipe, SHOShop Catback with 2 mufflers/glasspacks in place of the resonator, and 2 universal Magnaflows out back. Sounds very good.
Thanks for the compliment.
I think you can get the sound you want by getting mandrel bent y-pipe and then 2.5" exhaust to the rear and split to two Magnaflow mufflers with no resonators. At idle it seemed like I could hear every cylinder echoing in the pipes. The exhaust was very loud and raspy. I added two glass packs in line to get rid of the rasp and lower the tone.
