I know rasp, but then again when the secondaries open and you have a aftermarket exhaust, rasp is inevitable. Honestly, the sound isn't that bad when gunning in while in car. It's racy to say the least.

Please note that I did NOT custom make the y-pipe it came with the car, but it is definitely a DIY solution, the rear exhaust dump is 1/2 the length of the front.

The cat back I'm not sure of either but it's flows pretty well from what I can tell. once again, the Taurus sho just isn't set up from a good exhaust, it's hard to persuade any truly decent sounds from this car with a 2-1-2 set up.

Then again, I've driven the car so much maybe I've become accustomed to the sound, but I've loved it since day one so go figure.

Here's is an in car video when I had the 3.0l in, please don't look at anything but the sound is this video, the car needed work at the time of shoot AKA an engine! haha

A magnaflow catless is probably a good bet. Sho source will hook you up (god forbid shipping if your on the east coast like me).

Hmm, burnout next to other cars in a parking lot. I've seen dumber things.

yeah normally i dont say whats right and wrong but.....

that is very ******* if your gonna destroy your SHO do it elsewhere dont do it bear other cars.. more so considering you shot to the side when you did it..

im actually very sick of people being so inconsiderate... someone takes pride in something and some ******* finds a way to **** it up..

go big or go home

i was prepared to move when i was doing the burnout... thats why i slowed down... and stopped.
recorrected myself, and aimed the tires to the front left to prevent an accident.

i was chained. no way in **** i would go anywhere.
the only problem i face is $$$ spent on burnt tires.

it was an epic fwd burnout. you know it. quit complaining.
just because you dont have the balls to do what i did doesnt mean
you have to give me shit for doing it first :D

Bob aka Jedhead probably has the best sounding 3.0. Even before the headers, it sounded great. He has the SHOShop equal length y-pipe, SHOShop Catback with 2 mufflers/glasspacks in place of the resonator, and 2 universal Magnaflows out back. Sounds very good.

Thanks for the compliment.

I think you can get the sound you want by getting mandrel bent y-pipe and then 2.5" exhaust to the rear and split to two Magnaflow mufflers with no resonators. At idle it seemed like I could hear every cylinder echoing in the pipes. The exhaust was very loud and raspy. I added two glass packs in line to get rid of the rasp and lower the tone.
